“Designed by Ajax Law Ling Kit and Virginia Lung of Hong Kong-based practice One Plus Partnership, the interior design of the ‘Chongqing Mountain + city sales office’ in Chongqing, China represents the valley and mountain landscape of the surrounding Nanshan District, creating a parallel geological and craggy setting. Slanted and triangulated masses within the clubhouse form the partitions, producing a small-scale mountainscape inside. A triangulated marble floor pattern continues the theme generating an appearance of uneven terrain underfoot. Evoking the imagery of soft rain, LED lighting stands are suspended from the ceiling.
Furniture is minimally integrated into the arrangement as rock-shaped elements. A gold champagne-hued reception desk and chairs appear to be strewn and placed by natural geologic processes. A cavernous stairway connects the two levels, illuminated with a linear way-finding light which has been recessed into the solid wall.”
